Healthy Families Indiana

Healthy Families Indiana is a voluntary home visitation program designed to promote healthy families and healthy children through a variety of services, including child development, access to health care and parent education. The program is designed to strengthen families, promote healthy family functioning by teaching problem-solving skills, reduce family stress, improve family support systems, promote positive parent/child interaction and promote healthy childhood development.

What is Healthy Families?

Healthy Families is a free program for new or expecting parents. Through community support resources, parenting education, and special family events, your Family Support Specialist will assist you in learning about and celebrating your family’s strengths and traditions. Services are need-based and unique to your family. Enroll before your baby is 3 months old. Services are available for up to 5 years.

What does Healthy Families do?

Healthy Families is an in-home visiting program to support, assist, and educate parents as they navigate through parenthood and beyond. Support, assistance, and education may provide the following:

Information on child development
Help with identifying community resources (Housing, Utility/Rental assistance, food banks, clothing, etc.)
Developmental screenings 
Identification of developmental delays
Health and safety tips
