Our group homes are “family-style” home environments on the rural west side of Indiana (located in Kingman, Clinton, Rockville, and Brazil). The homes have six to eight residents at a time, living collaboratively to learn skills toward independence within the community. Our organization promotes programming activities, and opportunities based on a person-centered approach while maintaining the value of group living and connecting with others.

Each individual has a support team to listen to their personal goals, preferred hobbies, and community activities for engagement, as well as ways to connect with friends and family. The support team also develops training plans to encourage growth in skills. Individuals work toward acquiring the needed skills to keep their home clean, plan and cook meals, host social events, progress toward independence with medication, learn about medical appointments, and care for overall health and hygiene needs. We support residents with social skill development and working through potential behavioral barriers that may cause roadblocks to achieving their personal goals, such as maintaining employment or building meaningful relationships.

The homes provide 24-hour awake staffing so that a mentor is always available for training support or safety needs. The residents in our homes maintain an active lifestyle, always having opportunities to be out and about within the local community to be involved and connected.
